 Instructions:
 Separating your yarn: (optional)
I wanted my cardigan to start with the Tan color at the back and continue with the blue and then the grey. To do so you can wind your yarn into smaller balls and join all the colors together so your Cardigan will fade from once color to the next without a multiple of color changes.
Of course this step is not necessary, the gradient effect will differ for each size and yarn you choose.

Let’s begin:
You will be starting at the back of your Cardigan, you will be making a square, adding some arm holes, adding a bit more length to the square, You will then work 2 sides of your square to work the 2 front panels,

Then you will work on the border all around.

Lastly you will work on your sleeves.

With your hook and yarn make a magic circle,

R1: ch1, in the magic circle make 8 puff st (see glossary above), sl st with the top of the first puff st. R2: sl st in to the sp between the first and 2nd puff st (ch sp), ch1, *2 puff st in ch sp, sk to next ch sp* repeat from *to* around, sl st with the first puff st. You will have 16 puff st in total.

R3: *2 puff st in first sp, puff st in next 3 sp* repeat *to* around, sl st with the first puff st. You will have 20 puff st
R4: 1 puff st in each sp around, sl st with the first puff st. You will have 20 puff st
R5: *2 puff st in ch sp, 1 puff st in next 4 sp,* repeat *to* around, sl st with first puff. You will have 24 puff st.
R6: *[puff st, ch1, puff st] in ch sp, puff st in next 5 sp* repeat from *to* around, sl st with first puff. You will have 28 puff st.
R7: *[puff st, ch2, puff st] in ch sp, puff st in next 6 sp* repeat from *to* around, sl st with first puff. You will have 32 puff st. You will continue to work R7, but you will be increasing 1 puff st between your corners.

R8-32 (-35, -38, -40, -43, -46, -49, -52, -55): Repeat R7 but you will increase 1 puff st between your corners every new round. Fasten off.

You will now begin working on the sleeve opening

 The Sleeve Opening:

With your work in front of you, count 14 (15, 16, 17, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21) puffs st from the corner and place a st marker in the ch sp after the 14 (15, 16, 17, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21) puff, repeat the same on the opposite side.
You will now join your yarn again to the upper corner after the first st marker (see pic below)

R33 (36, 39, 41, 44, 47, 50, 53, 56): Join your yarn in the ch sp of the corner, make [puff st, ch2, puff st] in corner ch sp, puff st in each ch sp until you reach the next corner, [puff st, ch2, puff st] in corner ch sp, puff st until you reach the stitch marker, make a puff st in the sp the st marker is in, ch 28 (30, 32, 34, 34, 36, 38, 40, 42), sk to the corner sp and make [puff st, ch2, puff st], puff st in each sp between puffs, [puff st, ch2, puff st] in the corner sp, ch 28 (30, 32, 34, 34, 36, 38, 40, 42), sk to the next st marker, puff st in that sp, puff st in each ch sp until you reach the first puff st you made, sl st with it.

R34 (37, 40, 42, 45, 48, 51, 54, 57): work a corner [puff st, ch2, puff st], work in pattern until you reach the last puff before the first set of ch for the sleeve opening, make a puff in the first ch, [sk a ch, make a puff in next ch] repeat that until you reach the corner ch sp, you will have 14 (15, 16, 17, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21) puffs before you reach the corner, work in pattern again until you reach the ch for the other sleeve, make a puff st in first ch, [sk a ch, make a puff st in next ch] repeat that until you have 14 (15, 16, 17, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21) puff st on your ch, work in pattern until you reach the first corner puff you made, sl st with it.

R35-58 (38-59, 41-64, 43-66, 46-69, 52-75, 55-78, 58-81): Continue working in pattern adding 1 puff st per round between corners 4 in total per round, Fasten off when you reach the last round.

 The Sides

You will now work in Rows along the sides to create your asymmetrical panels.

You will join your yarn at the top corner (see pic below)

Row 1: ch3 (counts as dc), puff st in ch sp of corner, puff st in each ch sp along the side of your cardigan until you reach the next corner ch sp, puff st in the ch sp of the corner and a dc, Turn your work.

Row 2: ch3 (counts as dc), make a puff st in between the dc and puff st from previous row, repeat making a puff st in each ch sp to the ch before the last puff st, sk the last puff st and dc on top of the ch3, Turn your work.

Rows 3-16 (-18, -20, -21, -22, -24, -25, -26, -27): repeat Row 2. Try on your Cardigan and see if the drape is how you like for the first panel. If it’s too long or too short of a drape you can add or decrease rows now. Remember to do the same for the second panel as well. Also by increasing rows you may need more yarn. Fasten off on the last Row.

Repeat Rows 1-16 (-18, -20, -21, -22, -24, -25, -26, -27) for the opposite panel.
At the end of the second panel DO NOT FASTEN OFF!

R2-3: *work a corner puff [puff st, ch2, puff st], in each ch sp make a puff st till you reach a corner*, repeat from *to* around until you reach the first puff st you made, sl st with it.

Work your second sleeve the same. Hide all loose tails and there you have it your Asymmetric Fall Cardigan is done!
