The Sleeve

page11image39478848
You will need to make 2. Assemble the same as the back, but you will need 9 grannies 3 across by 3 tall.
The Hoody :

You will need 12 grannies, assembled 3 by 4.
Time to Assemble the Cardigan together:
You will now lay the back panel so right side is facing you, then you will lay the first front panel on top lining it up with the outside edge of the back panel, having the wrong side facing you. You will join them with either your yarn and tapestry needle or with your hook and yarn by slip stitching them together. You will seam across the 2 grannies from the front and 2 from the back. Repeat for the other front panel and shoulder assembly.
Side seam:
You will start from the bottom edge and seam both sides together working up leaving 1 and 1⁄2 grannies from the top, this will be your opening for the sleeve. Repeat for the other side.
The Sleeves:
WIth your work still wrong side facing you, take your sleeve and fold it in half, seam up the length of the 3 grannies, joining to form a tube, then you will line up the seam with the side seam and join your sleeve to your Body. Repeat for the other side sleeve.
The Hoody:
You will start at the middle of the back and middle of the 4 grannies, wrong side facing you, you will join one half of the hood, then join the other half.
With either your tapestry needle of hook, begin at that middle point and work by joining the back and hood together, when you meet your shoulder, you will continue to assemble the rest of the hood down the front panel. Repeat the same steps for the other half of the hoody.
Hide all loose tails.
Now fold your hood in half wrong side facing you, you will have 2 grannies on each side. Assemble them together, fasten off and hide loose tails.
Twisted Fringe Border:
With your Main Color yarn join to the right bottom corner of your Cardigan,
R1: ch1, sc in each st along the edge, *when you reach a seam you will sc in the corner st, sc in the seam and sc in next corner st, then sc along the next granny* repeat between *’s all around until you reach the bottom edge, in the corner you will add 3 sc, repeat between *’s until you reach the first sc, make 3 sc in last corner, sl st with ch1.
R2: sl st in next st, *pull a 8 inch long loop, drop your hook, pinch the base of your st, place your finger in the loop

and begin to twirl, I twirled mine about 30 times, once you can’t turn it anymore, and it is tight, gently pinch the end and pass back your hook through the loop and sl st at the base of the same st, pull on the fringe,

sl st in next 2 sc*, Repeat between *’s all around the edge of your cardigan, sl st with last st and fasten off. Hide all loose tails.
Repeat these same steps for the sleeve border as well.
