Glossary:
Ch: chain
Sl st: slip stitch
YO: yarn over
Sc: single crochet
Hdc: Half Double crochet Dc: double crochet

Petal St: Petal stitch ( begin by making the first half of a dc in st, you will have 2 loops on your hook, make another dc in same st, but only working the first half again, you will have 3 loops on your hook, YO and through all 3 loops)
Instructions:
Center Rosette Motif (make 2)
With your Hook and Color B yarn make a Magic CIrcle
Round 1: ch1, in the magic circle 16 sc, pull on the end yarn of the magic circle to close the hole, sl st with the first sc.
Round 2: ch3 (counts as first dc), dc in the same sp as ch3, *ch2, sk a st, petal st in next st,* repeat from *to* around, ch2 and sl st at the top of the first petal (ch3)
Round 3: ch3 (counts as first dc), 4dc in ch2 sp, *ch2, 5dc in ch2 sp* repeat around, ch 2 and sl st with top of ch3.
Round 4: ch3 (counts as first dc), dc in next 4, *ch5, sk ch2, dc in next 5st* repeat from *to* around, ch5, sl st with top of ch3.
Round 5: ch3, make the first half of a dc in next 4 st, you will have 5 loops, YO and pull through all loops, *ch5, sc in ch5, ch5, work the first half of dc in next 5 st, you will have 6 loops, YO through all loops* repeat from *to* around, ch5, sc in ch 5 sp, ch3, hdc with top of ch3.
Round 6: ch7, sc in first ch5, *ch7, sc in ch5 sp* repeat from *to* around, ch7, sl st with the hdc from Round 5. You will have 16 ch7 loops
Round 7: sl st in the ch7, ch3(counts as dc), dc 10 times in the ch7, *ch2, sk ch7, 11dc in next ch7* repeat from *to* around, ch2, sl st with the top of the ch3.
Round 8: ch3 (counts as dc), make the first half of a dc in next 2 st, yo through all 3 loops, [ch3, at the base of the last dc work the first half of a dc, work first half dc in next 2 st, YO through all 4 loops] repeat from [to] 4 times, you will have 5 petals worked over the first 11dc, *ch3, you will now sc around the ch2 and ch7 of the 2 previous Rounds, ch3, In the first dc of the 11 dc Repeat from [to] 5 times* repeat from *to* around, ch3, sc around the ch2 and ch7 of the 2 prev rounds, ch3, sl st with the top of the first petal.
Round 9: sl st in the first ch3,ch1 (counts as sc), [ch4, sc in next ch3 sp] repeat [to] 4 times, *ch2, sc in next ch3 sp, repeat [to] 5 times* repeat from *to* around, ch2, sc next ch3 sp, ch4, sl st with first st
48 loops
Round 10: sl st into the ch4, [ch5, sc in ch4] all around, skipping the ch2 sp (DO NOT work a sc in that ch sp) You will have 40 ch5 loops. Fasten off and make another Rosette Motif
Turning your Motif into a Square
With your MC yarn, join in any of the ch5 sp.
Round 1: ch3 (counts as dc), 2 dc in same ch5, ch2, 3 dc in same ch sp (first corner made), *{ch1, in next ch sp make 3 dc} repeat from {to} 9 times, ch1, in next ch5 make a corner [3dc, ch2, 3dc], * Repeat from *to* around 3 more times, you will omit the last corner st, sl st with the first ch3. You will have 4 corners separated by 9 groups of [3 dc, ch1]
Round 2: ch3 (counts as dc), in same ch sp make 2 more dc, ch1, work a corner [3dc, ch2, 3dc], *{ch1, in next ch sp make 3 dc} repeat from {to} 10 times, ch1, in next ch5 make a corner [3dc, ch2, 3dc], * Repeat from *to* around 3 more times, you will omit the last corner st, sl st with the first ch3.
You will continue to working Round 2, adding 1 dc cluster between each corner per round.
You will work the amount of rounds that gets you to the size square below you will need for your size.

21 (22, 23, 24, 24, 25, 25, 25 1⁄2, 25 1⁄2 ) inch square. Once you have your size Granny Square made, fasten off and repeat for the second square.
Time to Assemble the Shoulders and Side Seam
Shoulder assembly first:
Lay your work so the 2 panels are right side facing each other, matching corner to corner.
With your hook and MC yarn, or use your tapestry needle and MC yarn.
You will now join the 2 sides starting at the ch2 of the corner and working across 5, (6, 6, 7, 7, 8, 8, 9, 9) groups of 3dc, joining both sides together matching st to st. Fasten off.
Repeat for the other side.
Try on your sweater, if you need/want your neck to be more open or less open you can adjust now by seaming more groups together evenly on both sides or removing groups evenly on both sides.
Side Seam Assembly:
With your work still wrong side facing you will start from the bottom corner and join together both sides of the seam, working until you have 5 (6, 6, 7, 7, 8, 8, 9, 9) groups of 3 dc left, You will count the corner 3dc cluster as 1, Fasten off.
Repeat for the other side seam.
Sleeves:
Turn your work right side facing you now, with your MC yarn and 4mm/G crochet hook join to the first ch sp at the under arm seam,Round 1: ch3, 2dc in same ch sp, ch1 *3dc next ch sp, ch1* repeat until you reach the corner st/shoulder seam, work 1 3dc cluster and ch1 in the seam, then repeat *to* until you reach the first 3dc cluster, sl st with the top of the ch3.
Round 2: ch3, in the same sp make 2 more dc, ch1 *3dc next ch sp, ch1* repeat from *to* around until you reach the first 3dc group, sl st with the ch3.Round 3-11: Repeat Round 2
Continue below for Flared sleeve. If you choose to have a straight sleeve, repeat round 2 for the below rows.
Round 12-14: ch3, in the same sp make 2 more dc, ch2 *3dc next ch sp, ch2* repeat from *to* around until you reach the first 3dc group, sl st with the ch3.Round 15-17: ch3, in the same sp make 3 more dc, ch2 *4dc next ch sp, ch2* repeat from *to* around until you reach the first 3dc group, sl st with the ch3.
Round 18-21: ch3, in the same sp make 4 more dc, ch2 *5dc next ch sp, ch2* repeat from *to* around until you reach the first 3dc group, sl st with the ch3.
Try on your sweater if you like where your sleeve length is fasten off or continue a few more rounds until you reach your desired length.

Repeat again for the second sleeve, hide all loose tails and you are done My Friends!!!!
