Easy Red Velvet Dress

Size: S/M (L, XL/2X, 3X/4x)
You will need:
3 (3, 4, 5) skeins Bernat Velvet Stitch and Win (Bulky weight #5 yarn)

Fiber: 100% Polyester
Ball weight: 10.5oz/300g/315m

Crochet hook 6.5mm/K Scissors
Tapestry needle
Stitch marker

Stitches Used:
ch: chain
sc: single crochet sl st: Slip stitch

Instructions:
This Dress is worked from the neck down, you will begin by working the cowl part of the neck. Make a slip knot and chain 50 (50, 60, 60), sl st with the first ch making sure not to twist your chain.
Round 1: ch1, sc in the same st, and in each ch around, you will have 50 (50, 60, 60) sc in total, do not join you will work in the round from here on out.
Round 2: sc in next st, place your stitch marker on that first st to mark the beginning of your round, sc in each st until you reach the stitch marker.
Round 3-30: repeat round 2, moving your stitch marker up as you go marking the beginning of each new round. You will have 50 (50, 60, 60) sc in total.
*note* be sure to move stitch marker to first st of each new round to mark the beginning.Shoulder shaping:
Round 31: 2sc in next st, sc in next 4 st, *2sc in next st, sc in next 4st, * repeat from *to* around your work. You will have 60 (60, 70, 70) sc
Round 32: sc in each st around.Round 33: *2sc in next st, sc in next 5 st* repeat from *to* around, you will have 70 (70, 80, 80) scRound 34-35: sc in each st around.Round 36: *2sc in next st, sc in next 6st* repeat from *to* around, you will have 80 (80, 90, 90) sc.
Round 37-39: sc in each st around.Round 40: *2sc in next st, sc in next 7st* repeat from *to* around you will have 90 (90, 100, 100) sc.Round 41-42: sc in each st around.Round 43: *2sc in next st, sc in next 8st* repeat from *to* around you will have 100 (100, 110, 110) sc.Round 44-45: sc in each st around.Round 46: *2sc in next st, sc in next 5st* repeat from *to* around you will have 117 (117, 129, 129) sc.Round 47: sc in each st around. Stop here for Size S/M, continue below to sleeves
Round 48-50: 
sc in each st around. Stop here for Size L continue below to sleeves
Round 51-52: 
sc in each st around. Stop here for size XL/2x continue below to sleeves
Round 53-54: 
sc in each st around, continue below for sleeves.
*Note* be sure to try on your work as you go, not everyone’s body type is the same. You will want your work to reach the center of your breast just slightly below your armpit, if it doesnt you may need to make more rounds of sc to reach it, then continue below for the sleeve openings.
Sleeve openings:
Round 1: 
ch7 (9, 11, 13) , sk 20 (20, 24, 24) st, sc in next 38 (38, 40, 40) st, ch7, (9, 11, 13), sk 20 (20, 24,
24) st, sc in next 39 (39, 41, 41)st.
Body of Dress:
Round 1: 
pick up the 7 (9, 11, 13) st from the ch, sc in the next 38 (38, 40, 40), pick up the next 7 (9, 11,
13) st from the ch, sc in last 39 (39, 41, 41) st. you will have 91 (95, 103, 107) st
Round 2-47 (2-49, 2-51, 2-53): sc in each st remember to place your stitch marker on the first st of each new round. You will want your piece to sit at your hip, if you need to make more rounds of sc.
Flare out the skirt:
Round 1: *
2sc in next st, sc in next 15st* repeat from *to* around until you reach the stitch marker. You
will have 97 (101, 109, 114) st.Round 2-3: sc in each st around
Round 4: *2sc in next st, sc in next 15st* repeat from *to* around until you reach the stitch marker. You will have 104 (108, 116, 122) st.
Round 5-6: sc in each st around.Round 7: *2sc in next st, sc in next 15st* repeat from *to* around until you reach the stitch marker. You
will have 111 (115, 124, 130) st.Round 8-desired length: sc in each st around. Sl st with the next st and fasten off.
For the S/M size I ended with round 50, I am 5ft 3inch this sits just above my knee, but you may need yours longer or shorter depending on your desired length.
Sleeves:
Time to work on the sleeves, you will work the first sleeve then repeat the same steps for the second sleeve.
With your work facing you, you will join your yarn to the under arm of your sleeve opening. Pass your hook through the first of the 7 (9, 11, 13) ch at the arm pit area.
Round 1: ch1, sc in each of the 7 (9, 11, 13) st, sc in each of the next 22 (22, 26, 26) st, you will have 29 (31, 37, 39)
Round 2-25: sc in each st around, making sure to move your stitch marker to the first st of each new round as you go.
Trying on your dress again this part of the sleeve should be at 3⁄4 sleeve length or few inches past your elbow. You could leave the sleeve length like this or continue below to flare the sleeve for full length.
Round 26: *2sc in next st, sc in next 13 (15, 18, 19) st* repeat from *to* around. You will have 31 (33, 39, 41) st
Round 27-28: sc in each st around.Round 29: *2sc in next st, sc in next 14 (16, 19, 20) st* repeat from *to* around. You will have 33 (35,
41, 43) stRound 30-33: sc in each st around.
Round 34: *2sc in next st, sc in next 15 (16, 20, 21) st* repeat from *to* around. You will have 35 (37, 43, 45) st
Round 35-40: sc in each st around. Sl st with the next st fasten off.
If you need to make your sleeve longer you can just make more rounds of sc. The length for the sleeve

should sit just at the wrist. But you can make yours any length you wish. Repeat for the next sleeve.
Hide all loose tails and you are done My Friends!!!
