With your fingering weight yarn you will join with the st the front marker is in and ch1, sc in the same sp and in the next 2, 3, 3 st, ch1 and turn your work.

You will continue to work in rows until you work measures 5, 6, 7 inches.
You will now sl st your strap to the back of your work making sure the strap sits on the outside of your st marker, You want your armhole opening to be 3, 3 ½, 3 ½ inches. Sl st the strap and the back together and make 1 extra sl st to anchor your strap to the back of your top. Fasten off and hide all loose tails. Repeat this for the other strap.
