Easy Crochet Baby Booties

You will need:
Berroco Yarn Maya (Worsted weight but more like DK/sports) Color: Papaya
Crochet hook 2.25mm Tapestry needle Scissors

Stitches used:
Sc: Single Crochet
Hdc: Half Double Crochet
FPDC: Front Post Double Crochet

You can make these darling baby booties in different sizes if you use: Fingering yarn and a 2.25 mm hook you will get a preemie- newborn size Maya (dk/sports weight) yarn and a 2.25mm hook you will get 0-3months
Maya (dk/sports weight) yarn and a 2.75 hook you will get about 0-5 months
By going up in your hook size you will get a bigger size bootie, test it out with a larger hook for bootie sizes over 6 months if you need a larger size.

Instructions:
You will be working the cuff of your bootie.
With your hook and yarn make a slip knot and ch16

Row 1: in the second chain from hook sc, sc in each chain across. Ch1, and turn your work. You will have 15 sc.
Row 2-23: Working in the Back Loops Only, you will sc in each st across, ch1 and turn your work. You will have 15 sc in total. DO NOT FASTEN OFF.

With your work in front of you like so, you will be working in the ends of your row:

Row 1: Ch1, pick up 1 sc for each row, having a total of 23 sc. Ch1 and turn your work
Row 2: sc in each st along. 23 sc in total Fasten off, leaving a long enough tail to sew the cuff later about
8 inches.
Front part of the Bootie:
Row 3: With your work in front of you count 7st from the right and join your yarn in the 8th st, ch1, sc in the same sp and in the next 8 st, ch1 and turn your work. You will have 9sc. You should have 7 st left on either side of your cuff.
Row 4-6: sc in each st along, ch1 and turn your work. You will have a total of 9sc
Row 7: sc2tog, sc in the next 5 st, sc2tog in the last 2 st. You will have 7sc in total. Fasten off.
You will now Sew the Cuff together, fold it in half right side together and sew it together. Hide all loose tails.

Turn your work to the right side and you will join your yarn 1 st left of the seam of your bootie.

Round 1: ch2(counts as 1st hdc), hdc in the next 6st, in the next st (corner st) you will make 2 hdc, pick up 5hdc along the side of your tab, 2hdc in the corner st, hdc in each of the next 5 st, 2hdc in the next corner st, picking up 5 hdc along the next side of your tab, 2hdc in the next st (corner st), hdc in the next 7st, sl st with the first ch2 you had made. You will have 36 hdc in total.
Round 2-3: Ch2, FPDC all around, sl st with the ch2. (36st)
Round 4: (this is the sole of the bootie) ch1, sc2tog, sc in the next 13st, sc2tog, sc, sc2tog, sc in the next
13st, sc2tog, sl st with the ch. (32 st)
Round 5: ch1, sc2tog, sc in the next 11st, sc2tog, sc, sc2tog, sc in the next 11st, sc2tog, sl st with the ch. (28 st)
Round 6: ch1, sc2tog, sc in the next 9st, sc2tog, sc, sc2tog, sc in the next 9 st, sc2tog, sl st with the ch. (24 st)
Round 7: ch1, sc2tog, sc in the next 7sc, sc2tog, sc, sc2tog, sc in the next 7st, sc2tog, sl st with the ch. (20 st) Fasten off leaving a long enough tail to sew the sole of the bootie closed.
Turn your work wrong side out and sew the bottom closed. Sew in all the loose tails on the wrong side of your work. Turn your bootie right side out and fold the cuff in half, you are done with the first one. Make your second bootie the same way.
Pattern for the flower:
You will need:
Scraps of worsted weight yarn in 2 colors 2.25mm hook

Scissors Tapestry needle
Instructions:
With your hook and yarn (color for the center), make a slip knot and chain 6, sl st with the first chain,
Round 1: ch1, sc in the circle 17 times, sl st with the first sc. You will now join your next color yarn (color for the petals)
Round 2: *ch4, in the next st you will make a treble crochet omitting the last step, make another treble crochet in the same st and again omit the last step you will have 3 loops on your hook, YO and pull you yarn through all 3 loops, ch4, sl st with the next st, * Repeat from *to* around you will have a total of 9 petals. Fasten off and hide all loose tails.
