Gobble Gobbly Turkey Free Pattern

It is rough to be a Turkey in November....My Gobbly Gobble is safe...he will not end up in a sandwich...well...actually......maybe in a Crochet Turkey BLT....;-)


You will Need:
Hook size 2.75 mm

Berroco Maya in Light Brown
Berroco Comfort in 9731, for one of the feathers and for the wings
Berroco Comfort in 9760 for the feather and the red thing under the beak
Berroco Comfort in Ocre for a feather and the Beak
Berroco Comfort in Brown for a feather.

Polyfill
Snap on eyes
Tapestry Needle



Stitches used:

ch: chain
sc: single crochet
sc2tog: decrease, single two stitches together
dc: double crochet
sk st: skip a stitch
sl st: slip a stitch




Head: 

Round 1:in a magic circle ch, 6sc (6sc)



Round 2: 2sc in each st all around (12sc)

Plave a color Yarn scrap at the begining of your row to help knowing where to begin counting.

Round 3: 2sc in next st, sc (18sc)


Round 4: 2sc in next st, 2sc (24sc)

Round 5:  2sc in next st, 3sc (30sc)

Round 6-10: sc all around (30sc)


Round 11: sc2tog, 3sc (24sc)
Round 12: sc2tog, 2sc (18sc)





Put eyes, between  round 8 and 10, at about 7st apart.

Round 13: sc all around (18sc)
Fasten off
Stuff with Polyfill


Body:


Round 1:in a magic circle ch, 6sc (6sc)

Round 2: 2sc in each st all around (12sc)
Round 3: 2sc in next st, sc (18sc)

Round 4: 2sc in next st, 2sc (24sc)

Round 5:  2sc in next st, 3sc (30sc)


Round 6-14: sc all around (30sc)



Round 15: sc2tog, 3sc (24sc)



Round 16: sc2tog, 2sc (18sc)




Beak:

With Yellow yarn,

Round 1: In a magic circle ch, 6sc (6sc)

Round 2: [2sc, sc] 3 times (9sc)


Fasten off, fold in half and sew it in the middle between the eyes at about 1 round below.



Wattle/snood:(The skin under a turkeys beak is called the wattle. The snood is a flap of skin that is on the top of the turkeys beak.)

With red Yarn, ch7,


 in second ch from hoop 3sc, sl st in next st and Fasten Off
 Sew on the right side of the  beak





Feathers:(make 4)

Round 1:in a magic circle ch, 6sc (6sc)

Round 2: 2sc in next st, sc (9sc)

Round 3- 16: sc all around (9sc)



Round 17: sc2tog, sc (6sc)

Round 18- 19: sc all around (6sc)

Fasten off
make 3 more different colors Feathers.








Wings 

Row 1:with Orange Yarn, sl st on the side of the body and 6sc down turn,



Row 2: ch2, sk2 st, 8dc in next st, sk 2 st, sl st in last st from ch,



 fasten off
Repeat on other side of the body.




Feet : (make 2)

Round 1: in a magic circle, ch, 6sc (6sc)

Round 2: 2sc in each st (12sc)


Round 3-6: sc all around  (12sc)


stuff with polyfill

Round 7: sc2tog all around  until you have 6sc left (6sc)


Round 8-20: sc all around



Fasten off









Sew your legs under Goobly body and Voila
