Bermuda Bliss Tricolor Dress Free Pattern

I created This dress while in Bermuda, inspired by the turquoise water, the pink sand, and the beautiful Burnt Orange Sunset....
When I came back home from my trip, I decided to share the pattern with you.
Since I like to crochet each time something different, I used Turquoise, Lavender and Purple for  this tutorial.
But Really Any Color of your choice would work.




(Pattern is for size 7 Girl)
You will Need:( for the Purple and Turquoise Dress)
Crochet hook : 3.25mm
Tapestry Needle
Cascade Pima Cotton yarn 2 of each Color, 3710, 3708, 3736


You will Need:( for the Pink and Turquoise Dress)
Crochet hook : 3.25mm
Tapestry Needle
Berroco Weekend DK color Number, 2 of each color: 2926, 2911and 2965



Stitches used
ch: chain
sc: single crochet
dc: double crochet
cldc: cluster dc (it means that you omit the last step of your dc, see tutorial pics)
st: stitches
sk: skip
Clusters: you will have two kinds of Clusters to create your flower pattern.

1)ch3, 2cldc in the same st 
2) 2cldc, ch3 in the same st






Pattern:

Body:

With Turquoise Yarn ch 120,

Round 1: sl st in first ch, making sure your chain is not twisted,

 sc all around sl st with first sc.



Round 2: ch3,

2dc in same st,

[sk2 st, 3dc] all around,



 sl st with first ch3


Round 3: ch, sc in same st,


 sc all around, sl st with first sc

Round 4: ch3,

2dc in same st,

 [sk2st, 3dc] all around, sl st with first ch3







Round 5: ch, sc in same st
 sc all around

 Join with first sc
Round 6:


Round 7 to14 : Repeat Round 2 to 5

Place little scraps of colored yarn at the beginning of your row and count 20 shells, place a second one

Back:

From Now on you will be working in rows
Row 15: Skip two shells from the scrap yarn, sl st and ch3, 2dc in same st, [sk2, 3dc] 16 times, turn



Row 16: ch, sc in same st, sc all along, turn

Row 17: ch3, sk 2 st, 3dc, [sk2st 3dc] 15 times, sk2, dc, turn


Row 18: ch, sc in same st, sc all along turn 
Row 19: ch3, 2dc in same st, sk2st, 3dc] 15 times



Row 20: ch, sc in same sp, sc all along, turn 


Row 21: ch3, 2dc in same st, sk2st, 3dc] 15 times

Row 22: ch, sc in same sp, sc all along, turn 


Back Shoulder straps:

Row 23:  ch3, 2dc in same st, [sk2st, 3dc] 2 times

Row 24: ch, sc all along

Row 25: ch3 2dc in same st, [sk 2, 3dc] twice
Row 26: .ch sc in same st,sc all along Fasten off.

skip10 shells, with Turquoise yarn, sl st
repeat shoulder strap











Front shoulder Straps:

Place your work in front of you, count 2 shells from your little scrap yarn, with Turquoise yarn, sl st


ch3
2dc in same st, [sk2, 3dc] twice, turn

sc all along turn



ch3, [sk2, 3dc in same st] 3 times, turn

 repeat until you have 5 rows of shells, sc along the last row fasten off

skip shells, with turquoise yarn sl st and repeat strap.





Fasten off, sew in all loose tails.

turn your work inside out, and with your Tapestry needle sew the Shoulder straps together.
turn your work back to it's right side

Skirt:

Place your work upside in front of you




Round 1:With lavender yarn, sl st in any of the st from the back side of your dress, sc all around, fasten off




 Round 2: with Purple color sc all around, fasten off

Round 3: with Turquoise Yarn sc all around





Round 4: with Lavender Yarn, sl st , sc, [ch5, sk 3st, sc] all around.













when you reach your first sc from the beginning of the round, ch2, dc in sc.

Round 5: ch5, sc in middle st of your next ch5, 




* ( [ch3, 2 cldc in the base of the sc, omitting the last step twice, 



yarn over and through  the 2 cldc, you just created a cluster]

, now in the next ch5 from round 3, [cldc in the middle ch of the ch5

, omitting the last step twice, yarn over and through  the 2 cldc



,ch3

,sc at the base of the cluster]

, ch5,sc in the middle of the next ch5 from round 3.) *




Repeat from * to * all around, end with a ch5 sc in  middle of 5ch from beginning of round 5












Round 6: ch3, *[in middle of your 2 clusters, make 2cldc omitting the last move again



ch3,sc at the base of the cluster

ch3, 2cldc, omitting the last steps again


ch3


sc in middle of ch5 from round 5


ch3]*, and repeat from * to *

 Round 7: [ch3,  2 cldc,

in next cluster from previous round,


2 cldc , ch3, sc in the base of the cluster


 ch5, sk one clusters from previous row

sc in the next]


repeat all around



Round 8:[ch3,

2cldc in middle of 2 clusters from previous round, ch3, sc at base os same st
ch3, 2scdc in same middle of 2 clusters from previous round

ch3, sc in middle of ch5 from previous round]

repeat all around





Round 9:  ch5,  

sc in the middle of the ch5 from previous round, 

ch3, 2cldc, in cluster from previous round, 

2cldc, ch3 ,sc in base of  next cluster from previous round
ch5



Round 10- 16: Repeat Round 5to 9








Round 17 : [ch5 sc on  top of first cluster, ch sc on top of second cluster] all around



Fasten off



Round 18 : with Purple yarn, sl st in any of the sc from previous round, sc in same sp, [ch5, sc in sc from previous round ] all around













Round 19 -32 : Repeat Round 5 to 9













Round : sc, ch5, sc


Fasten off


Finishing Touches:

Armholes:


with your purple yarn, sl st at the back of the armhole, sc in same st, pick up 20 sc going up the arm



 , 20 going down and about10 along to reach the beginning of your round. sl st fasten off.



The amount of st I have is about 50, as you pick up your st you might have a slightly different number, and it is absolutely fine, The important thing is to pick the same amount of stitches on both armholes .
Repeat on other side



Collar:

Pick up stitches as for the armholes beginning at the back of your work, with your purple yarn, sl st at the back, sc in same st, pick up









Add an Easy and Quick Flower, and Voila!!

  1. Beautiful dress! Ahhh... Bermuda... I was just there while on a cruise in the beginning of July! I would have happily stayed there instead of going to the other islands! Bermuda was absolutely gorgeous! I will definitely go back there one day! :)
