Carnation Flower Applique Free Pattern

This Carnation flower appliqué I created today would be perfect as an addition to your next up cycled head band, or your next up cycled crochet organizer. I can not stop creating flowers lately...the grounds around me are not green yet...and my craving for color around me transpires.....;-)



You will need:

Hook size 3:25 mm
Cascade Ultra Pima Cotton yarn in 3 different colors, I used Pink, Fuchia and Lavender and Cream
Tapestry Needle


Stitches used


ch: chain
sl st: slip stitch
sc: single crochet
hdc: half double crochet
dc: double crochet
tr: trebble

Pattern:

Small upper flower:
Round 1: With Purple color Yarn, In a magic ring, ch2, 15 hdc, join with the first ch2 fasten off





Round 2: With pink color yarn, and in front loop only, sl st in any of the round 1 st,

 sc in same st,

5dc in next st,

sc





 [5dc, sc] all around, join with 1st sc.



Fasten off.

Round 3: with Dark rose Color Yarn, sl st in any of the first 5dc from round 2,


 sc in same st,

 ch1,

 [sc. ch1] 3 more times,


 (2sc, [sc, ch1] 4 times) all around,

fasten off.


Large bottom flower:
Round 1:Turn your flower wrong side facing you , and in the back loops left from round 2,


and with purple color yarn, sl st in any of the loop,


hdc in same st and in every loop around (16hdc)


Fasten off.


Turn your flower right side facing you and repeat round 2 and 3 from upper flower.
Fasten off.
