Free Pattern Gorgeous Crochet Xmas Ornament Mandala Inspired


Xmas Crochet Ornament Free Pattern

 So here I am, in Lanai Hawaii, facing the amazing ocean, and volcanic rock all around me, it is impossible not to feel the Immensity of the nature surrounding us, It is always an humbling experience to travel, Our world is an amazing place, I do not take my time on this earth for granted...I feel very lucky to be on this gorgeous planet of ours...
Sharing this Mandala inspired ornament with you all seems so natural today, I chose a beautiful summer feel Cotton, but you can of course substitute it to any yarn you wish, and depending on your hook size and yarn, the ornament will have many different sizes.

You will Need:
Hook Size: 2.5mm
Yarn Dungarease in  5 different colors.
Tapestry Needle
Polyfill for stuffing.
Stitches used in this project:
sl st: slip stitch
ch: chain
sc: single crochet
dc: double crochet
hdc Half double crochet.

Ball: Make 2 half balls.

Round 1: With Beige Color, In a magic ring, ch3 (counts as first dc) , dc 15sl st (16dc)

Round 2: With Pink Color, (hdc, 2hdc in next st) all around (24 hdc)











Round 3: With Cream Color (dc, 2dc in next st) all around (36 dc) Fasten off


Round 4: With Blue Color, sl st through  in the dc post from row 3, and sl st in each dc post all around.(36sl st)



Round 5: With Blue Color, in st from round 3 sl st another color and (3dc in same sp, skip 2 st) all around (36dc)



Round 6: With Lime Color, [sc in middle of 3dc, 3dc in st from row 3] all around (48st)



Round 7: With Pink, sl st , ch 2, hdc in next and all around (48st)



Round 8:  With cream Color sl st ch1 sc in same st, sc in lime color row 6(  sc, sc in row 6) all around (48st)





Round 9: With Beige Color hdc all around( 48st)


Round 10 : with  Pink Color sc all around (48st) fasten off for the first half ball,


Sew all the loose tails neatly with your tapestry needle, at the end of the second half of the ball do not fasten off and join both ball with the pink Color Yarn and sl st all around


when 3/4 done fill with Polyfill stuffing Firmly
Voila!!!! You just created your self a Gorgeous Mandala inspired Hawaiian Ornament!!!!

  2. with the blue color, make a ch of 3, it counts as first dc, then 2 dc in same sp, skip 2 st, [3dc in next st, skip the next 2st] all around….I hope this helps…let me kmow.

  6. I love this pattern! Thanks so much for the idea - I can see how this would be infinitely customizable. I think I will make some in bright colors for gifts this year. You could also make them the right size to cover those plastic Christmas ball ornaments so you don't have to stuff each one - I think that's what I'll do.

    2. did you end up trying this with the plastic Christmas balls, im currently trying to size it around one right now and was wondering if there was an approx size for this pattern? im experimenting with a few different patterns. a size would be helpful if possible :)
